AGREE THE CHECK BEFORE THE CHECK
Verification scope depends on product type, packaging, lot size, access and the commercial agreement. A useful record states what will be checked, how much of the batch will be sampled, what evidence will be supplied and how exceptions will be handled.
IDENTITY + QUANTITY
Model references, labels, carton counts and line quantities can be reconciled against the agreed request. Serial capture may be available when proportionate and permitted, but buyers should not assume a complete device-level serial register unless it is expressly included.
CONDITION + FUNCTION
External condition checks and sample functional checks are different activities. A cosmetic review cannot prove long-term performance. Refurbished and open-box lots require written acceptance criteria rather than a broad grade name.
EXCEPTION OUTPUT
An exception record should identify the affected line and quantity, describe the observed issue, attach available evidence and capture the buyer’s decision. It is a decision aid, not an independent laboratory certificate.
